26 JAN 1967 APO 96240 (Nha Trang) Well, here I am, back at the scratch pad - guess I owe you a letter (always). I am out of jump school. Got heat cramps while running Wednesday AM - medics put me on "quarters" rest for 24hrs. - so no more school. Don't think I'll go back next course. Not really worth the harassment. Just as well anyway I guess. There were 8 others (Americans) and 3 Australians taking the course. Yesterday PM they gave G.I's a PT test - only 1 passed - kicked all others out - So - that's that. Got your "Care" package yesterday - real good - especially good. Also Iowa flag - Thanks. There is a PFC in the company from Newton [Iowa]. His name is Schnathorst. I pass the Herald [hometown newspaper] on to him when I'm done with it. Here's a photo and write-up for the paper - be sure to get this photo back from the Herald. [I don't think we ever did] Also send me 3 or 4 clippings when it comes out. [clipping] Thanks. Guess that's about all for now. Have another box of slides to send soon. Next Letter |
